There are numerous types of potato salads which vary with the regions and country they originate. Although potato salad is referred to as a ‘salad’ it’s essentially a ‘side dish’ because it usually accompanies the ‘main course’. Potato salad is both very delicious as well as healthy. It is rich in potassium as well as vitamins A and B6. Potassium is used by the body to maintain healthy cells as well as for body growth while vitamins C and B6 are essencial for increasing our body immune system, prevent blood clots and aiding in faster wound healing. Potato salad is best served alongside the fish of your choice from grilled sardines to salmon or even minced beef burgers.
To prepare potato salad you need to have the following ingredients: Potatoes, eggs, onions, salt, freshly cracked black pepper, olive oil, white vinegar and capers.

Method
You first start by boiling potatoes in a saucepan. Ensure that all the potatoes are well cleaned. When boiling the potatoes start by putting them in cold water. Ensure that all the potatoes are covered by the water. Heat the content of the saucepan until the water starts bubbling. Then reduce the heat to medium and continue to heat the potatoes being careful not to overcook them as they can fall apart when mixing them with other ingredients. Do this by checking the potatoes after every 5minutes by piercing them with a fork. Continue boiling the potatoes until they are easily pierced by the fork. Peeling the potatoes is optional as it is even advisable to leave the potatoes unpeeled as they make the salad healthier as well as adding some color to the salad. Then chop the potatoes roughly as they look better when chopped roughly compared to when they are chopped into cubes.
The next step is to clean your eggs. Then boil water in a boiling pot and then put the eggs into the boiling water and let them to boil for six minutes. Remove your eggs from the boiling water then dip them in cold water to cool fast or just leave them to cool by themselves. After the eggs have cooled down peel and chop the eggs into a bowl. Then take you onions and slice them into rings.
Put all the three ingredients into a big bowl then sprinkle with salt, freshly cracked black pepper, good olive oil and white vinegar. You can add capers if you want but capers are optional. Mix all the contentment together being careful not to mush the potatoes. You can mix lightly with your hands for better results as you hands will not mush the potatoes.
You can enjoy you potato salad as it especially during hot summers or you can serve alongside the fish of your choice from grilled sardines to salmon or even minced beef burgers.

Headache refers to pain or aching in any part of head or upper neck
region. This pain may range from mild-to-moderate or moderate-to-severe. It can be temporary, recurrent or chronic. Headache causes are numerous and to provide effective treatment you must know the different types of headaches.

Medical science classifies headaches in to three major categories:

Primary headache: Almost 90% headaches are primary. These include migraine, tension headache and cluster headache.

a) Tension headache: This is very common among women and is generally associated with episodes of physical/emotional stress, anxiety, depression, etc. Physical condition like temporomandibular joint disorder or degeneration in the cervical spine or arthritic pain in the neck can also cause headache. This is a very common category and is generally age-related and it begins in middle age. Approximately 75% to 90% suffer from frequent or recurring tension headaches.
b) Migraine headache: This kind affects children as well as adults. Generally, young boys and girls experience migraine headache before puberty. This is the second common category of headache and approximately 12% of USA population suffers from migraines.
c) Cluster headache: This is a rare kind of headache which occurs daily for sometime or even months and may disappear or recur. Men in their late 20s are generally affected by this kind of headache.

Secondary Headache: This is due to some underlying condition in the head or neck. Secondary headache causes can be due to tumor, head trauma, meningitis, infection, encephalitis, cerebrovascular disease or other metabolic disorders like diabetes, thyroid disorders etc. Secondary headache cause can also result from problems involving eyes, sinus, nose, ears, or teeth. In such cases the underlying condition of the patient must be diagnosed and appropriate treatment must be provided. Quite often, certain side effects of medicines also cause headaches.

Cranial neuralgia and other headaches: Cranial neuralgia is caused due to inflammation in the cranial or adjoining nerves reaching the head or upper parts of neck. This may also lead to pain in the adjoining area like face, neck and may even radiate to other parts like ears etc.

In general, primary headaches are not life-threatening but they affect the quality of life. Tension headaches which are caused by external stressors lead to contraction of muscles covering the skull which results in spasms and eventually headache. Physical stress like table-work which requires lot of concentration or physical exertion also leads to headache. However, this category of headache is temporary and may resolve on its own or with home treatment.

In certain instances external triggers become the headache cause. Certain drugs that dilate or constrict the blood vessels in the head may lead to cluster headaches. Alcohol abuse also results in recurring headaches. Research studies show that environmental triggers like sudden change in altitude, weather or climatic changes, barometric pressure changes also affect the brain and can lead to headache.

However, secondary headache which causes severe or recurring pain, or hamper daily activities must not be ignored and need to be evaluated by Primary Care Physician. If headaches are accompanied by other symptoms like dizziness, seizures, disorientation, stabbing pain in the neck, head, eyes, unconsciousness, etc, then seek medical help immediately.

The industrial age saw a lot of people work in one of the worst working condition in history. This was an age where man was seen as a machine whose feelings did not matter. The fact that most people had adopted the Calvinistic way of life and thinking did not matter. Most religions at that time disregarded anything that had to do with the human body including feelings. Hence, some people went as far as bottling up any health issues they had. Most people thought that sharing their health issues was only a preserve of the supernatural being that they believed in.

Unfortunately, the fear of expressing once feelings was carried on from this age. Expressing your feelings was seen as a weakness. This was especially so in cultures that encouraged people to adopt a stoic demeanor. The Victorian culture comes in mind where feeling where expression of one’s feelings was generally shunned upon. Kings and queens did not express their feelings let alone their health issues. This cultures has been carried on to the present day leadership. For example, most presidents in America are meant to portray a stoic look when in public. Hence, we did not know that President Kennedy had health issues that required him to be constantly sedated with pain killers until he was assassinated. This culture also extends to the general population. We know little about how our neighbors feel let alone their health issues.

It is only until recently that psychologists have insisted on the importance of talking about feelings and health issues. There is a large body of research that shows that expressing your feelings is not only healthy but it leaves you feeling better and helps you connect more with people. Human relationships are all about emotions. Those who can express their feelings more easily are thought to have more heart power. It is this heart power that is linked to a higher emotional intelligence which is extremely important for those who want to take part in higher positions in society. By expressing your feelings, you connect more with people. People also see you as having more leadership potential if you can express your feelings.

Expressing your feelings is also related to the importance of being able to express any health issues that you are suffering from. By expressing your health issues, you give your doctor an opportunity for a faster assessment of what ails you. This then makes it easier for you to receive treatment. Gone are the days when expressing your health related issues were shunned upon. People these days are more at ease expressing the health related issues they have including diseases like HIV/AIDs. Such expressions help those around you plan themselves better in terms of your treatment. It also helps them prepare themselves in the event of your looming demise. This also helps you live more freely and love those around you more dearly. Thus, expressing your feelings and any health related issues that you have should be encouraged.

Many people get worried-not only the old, but also health professionals and policy makers. The everyday health care for the people of the age 65 and even older can be difficult. The fact is; just the same way children are not and will never be small adults, the aged are not and will never be the gray-haired 40 years old. Old people are totally different from the inside to the outside.

Due to the old age, the effects on their functions is is highly evident for every body system. This is also true for the healthiest people whose age is 65years or more. The output of the heart reduces. Calcium in their bones and teeth moves into the blood vessels. Their vision is changed to cataracts dim. Hearing becomes a problem. Liver, kidney and lung functions slow down. They experience wear and tear within the joints with pain. Nevertheless, these alters do not equate automatically to disability. For everyday health care for the elderly, a healthy diet, regular exercise and intellectual arousal can to a great extent prevent and even delay diseases and disabilities.

Every normal age-related variables can be accompanied with extreme health challenges like heart disease and diabetes. Combined with the old age, the factor raises the complexity of their everyday health care. However, with early diagnosis, which is accompanied by effective and efficient management of the chronic diseases can allow the aged to enjoy their future being active, functional and to be self reliant members of their society.

The management of the main chronic diseases entails a prescribed medication on regular bases. Even if medication may improve the quality of life, reduce the severity of symptoms and at the same time increasing their lifespan, they have risks associated with them. For instance, research has indicated that taking a dose of four or even more prescribed drugs is a clear risk fact for later falls. With this fall, it can increase ranks related to delicate elderly.

For most health practitioners who provide everyday health care for the elderly are usually the main care providers but not necessarily geriatric health specialists or geriatricians. Definitely, the health care provider is usually younger than the patient. Moreover, he/she may be from a different ethnic or racial background. This brings about challenges in communication, though it offers a good opportunity for benefiting in mutual learning.

It is important to note that people’s attitudes and beliefs concerning the aging can to a great extent affect the way they age. For example, people with negative beliefs and attitudes about health and aging might be affected by strokes and heart attacks. But those who have a positive attitude about aging may engage in everyday health care and healthy habits such as maintenance of a standard weight and consuming a balanced diet.

In a nutshell, everyday health care of the elderly should be individualized, based on the personal values, objectives goals and preferences and life expectancy. Attention needed for an active and healthy 65 years old individuals may differ from those of a delicate 85 year old living in a nursing home. The main goals that we should strive to achieve for the health care of the elderly include delaying decline, upholding the individual self care, achieving the best quality of life and minimizing complications associated with old age.

Agaricus blazei (agaricus subrufescens ) is a mushroom species. The mushroom is has been eaten for thousands of years. The mushroom has many benefits, among them:

1) Agaricus mushroom has an almonds fragrance and a taste that is somewhat sweat. This makes it easy to eat. The almond fragrance is because of the benzyl alcohol, methyl benzoate, benzonitrile, and benzaldehyde therein.

2) The agaricus mushroom has high beta glucan quantities. This compound as well as the alpha glucans stimulates the immune system. The beta-glucans from mushroom works on a molecular and a cellular level to stimulate natural killer or NK cells, neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes, macrophages which are some of the most important components of the human immune system. The fungus is amazing in that it not only stimulates one part of the immune system, but different components simultaneously.

3) Laboratory studies have shown that the complex polysaccharides that are isolated from Agaricus blazei such as beta-glucans inhibit tumor growth and kill cancerous cells. There are also studies that show that extracts from the mushroom inhibit cancer metastases. This is the reason the Brazilians and the Japanese use the mushroom in oncological therapy.

4) In China, Brazil, Korea, and Taiwan, Agaricus blazei is also used to prevent osteoporosis and to strengthen the bones because it has high amounts of vitamin D2 calcium, to prevent peptic ulcers, to fight physical and emotional stress, and to cure circulatory and digestive disorders.

5) According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agaricus_subrufescens, the Beta Glucan in the fungus is capable of lowering the serum levels of LDL and VLDL cholesterol as well as triglycerols.

6) The mushroom’s carbohydrate and protein levels are higher that those of other mushrooms. Mushrooms are composed of between 2 to 40% protein, 2 to 8% fat, 1 to 55% carbohydrates, 3 to 32% fiber, 8 to 10% ash, and about 90% water.

7) The mushroom is a great antioxidant. This is a great property that improves your health. Antioxidants have been shown by numerous studies to protect the body from cancer, stroke, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes and even to slow down the EARLY ageing process.

8) Extracts of the agaricus mushroom contains linoleic acid. The acid is important because it helps with blood clotting, inflammation, blood pressure control, and body temperature control. The acid is also important in cellular metabolism and in preserving healthy cell membranes’.

9) Another advantage of the Agaricus mushroom is that it helps the body detoxify. Detoxification is the removal of harmful toxins and chemicals from the body. Detox is important in helping the body achieve complete wellness.

10) Do you want a healthy, young-looking skin? According to http://www.vitalitymushrooms.com/2011/06/18/health-benefits-of-agaricus-blazei/, the mushroom’s antioxidant and immune-boosting properties work topically. This means the UV damage is counteracted and the skin is healed of blemishes, rashes, and wounds.

11) The mushroom is good for diabetics because it balances the blood sugar levels. Agaricus blazei is used in the treatment of asthma and other allergies.

Other benefits of the mushroom are that:

Its extract shields the body against such pathogens as viruses and bacteria

It helps with liver function

It helps with bad breath

Choosing the right doctor can make routine visits more comfortable. Getting to know your doctor can also make things much more comfortable, but you may not always be able to choose your doctor. For many people, their insurance plans will dictate who their doctor is. If you are lucky, the doctor that you want to use will be covered under your insurance plan. Many people are deciding that they want to choose their doctor even if the doctor is not covered under their insurance plans. There is nothing wrong with this, but of course the insurance company will not cover any visits to this doctor. If you are new in town, it can be really difficult trying to figure out which doctor is best for you. Here are some tips that will help you make the right decision.

Contact your health insurance provider
The first step in finding a highly qualified doctor in your area is to contact your health insurance provider. Ask them for a list of doctors in your area that are covered under your insurance plan. Not every doctor will be fully covered under your insurance plan. If you are looking for a family practice, make sure that the family practice you choose is fully covered. If they are not fully covered, find out what is and what is not covered under your insurance plan. If you live in Raleigh North Carolina than choosing our Raleigh family practice would be the best choice. If you can’t find a family practice in Raleigh, you might want to look for a Cary family practice. Cary is a smaller city to the west of Raleigh.

Once you narrow down your choices, it becomes much easier to pick a doctor. Your health insurance provider should also provide more information with the list of doctors that are covered under your plan. Some insurance companies will even include doctor profiles. These profiles are there to help you in the decision process. These profiles can include important information like: the doctor’s education, their work history, and what services are covered under your insurance plan.

You can often get the best advice from friends and family. Being new to an area just makes this more of a challenge. If you don’t have any friends or family in the area, you can always ask a coworker who they would recommend. Check their recommendation with the list of doctors you have already narrowed down. These are the easiest ways to find a doctor in your area.

While this is true for many people, some couples have problems conceiving yet do not want to go down the route of artificial fertility aids

In terms of human medicine, acupuncture is by far the oldest formalised method of treatment spanning back some 5000 years in China. The acceptance of acupuncture has increased in western medicine over recent decades and many advocate the use of it as an aid to natural fertility.

Acupuncture works on the theory that the body has energy flows, or chi, along recognisable and consistent pathways around the body, called meridians. The insertion of acupuncture needles helps stimulate flow along the meridians, assisting in areas where chi has become blocked or stagnant.

By improving the energy flow, or bio-chemical balance in modern terminology, the whole body is in better health which in itself is an important factor in being able to conceive. Added to this, acupuncture has a long history in reducing stress, stress being a known factor to conception difficulties.

There are possible links with acupuncture to increased health of sperm, helping blood flow to the uterus, increasing the chances of ovulation and also the regulation of ovulation. Acupuncture can be part of a naturally healthy approach to preparing yourself for pregnancy.

Use it as part of a natural fertility approach that can include among other things specific herbal remedies, regular exercise, monitoring the fertility cycle, and making sure your body has as much healthy nutrition while eliminating toxins from your diet. Yoga has a positive effect on all the body systems with programs specifically designed for fertility and pregnancy.

Improve the well being of your mind and body naturally while you prepare yourselves for bringing new life into the world, giving you all the best chance of healthy development at natural fertility Queensland.

If you or a loved one is addicted to drugs, at some point drug rehabilitation is going to become a necessity. In most cases, addicts cannot successfully stop using on their own, and need the treatment and support that rehab offers.

However, when it comes to actually go into rehab, many addicts resist, due to fear of the unexpected. Knowing what the drug rehab process is really like can actually allay those fears, and increase the chance that an addict will enter willingly and complete the process.

Phase One: Detoxification

When you are addicted to a drug, you have to continually take the drug in order to avoid the feelings of withdrawal that come from abstaining. You want to maintain the illusion of the good feelings that the drug brings, so you take dose after does of the drug.

The first step to rehabilitation, then, is to get the drugs out of your system. For the first several days or weeks of rehab, you’ll go through the detoxification process as your body cleans out the harmful substances. This process can be painful and uncomfortable, the severity of which depends on the drug. However, the rehabilitation center will do everything to make this process as healthy as possible; in most cases, detox is medically supervised, and you’ll receive help overcoming the symptoms of withdrawal.

Phase Two: Therapeutic

Once your body is clear of the physical symptoms of the drug, and you are on the road to regaining your physical health, rehab switches focus on to the psychological aspects of addiction. You’ll attend both individual and group therapy sessions, in which you’ll discuss the issues surrounding your addiction and learn new strategies for handling the triggers that lead you to use.

Depending on the facility, you may engage in other therapeutic activities during this time as well. For example, some facilities provide art therapy, animal therapy or sports therapy to help you recover and handle the emotions that surround your addiction and recovery. Expect to have a strict schedule during this period, and encouragement to engage in healthy activities, such as sleep and exercise.

Phase Three: Aftercare

Your time in the rehab center may end after 30, 60 or 90 days, but the process of recovery is far from over. In some cases, recovery is a lifelong process, and after you leave rehab, you’ll receive aftercare for a period of time. This might include daily or weekly check in calls with your counselor, regular therapy sessions and perhaps attendance at meetings. The idea of aftercare is that while it’s comparatively easy to stay sober in the controlled environment of the facility, in the real world it’s far more challenging, and you’ll need extra support to stay sober in that environment.

Everyone’s rehabilitation process is different, and every facility is different in terms of policies, programs and offerings. However, most follow this general process of detox, therapy and aftercare. It’s a proven process that can help you get back on your feet and enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life after drugs.

Prostate Treatment by Fine Treatment is Unique Prevention of Prostate Cancer As Ideal Treatment of BPH and Prostatitis

Prostate treatment and prevention of prostate cancer: Fine Treatment offers the first effective prostate treatment, particularly for BPH and chronic prostatitis which relieves pelvic pain and other symptoms and is the best powerful prevention measure of the development of prostate cancer as these heath conditions are interconnected. You can find video evidences of Dr Allen’s device effectiveness in this article.

London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) August 09, 2011

Dr Simon Allen of Fine Treatment states a common belief that inflammation of a prostate may lead over time to the development of prostate cancer. Despite some doctors’ saying that there is no correlation between chronic prostatitis and prostate cancer nobody can argue that infections and inflammations may represent one mechanism through which prostate cancer develops. It’s well known that chronic inflammation of several other organs is associated with various cancers.

For example, the inflammation of the lower esophagus (Barrett’s esophagitis) can lead to esophageal cancer or ulcerative colitis can develop into colon cancer. Since chronic inflammation causes cancer in other organs, it is reasonable to suggest that chronic prostatitis if left unattended may ultimately lead to prostate cancer.

Therefore, it is big news when there is an option of treating chronic prostatitis at home for the first time in the World effectively and thus to prevent the development of prostate cancer.

The second great news is that this prostate treatmentdoes not require antibiotics, medication and/or other operations. Dr Allen’s Device for Prostate Care is beneficial for chronic prostatitis, including CPPS and free from adverse side effects.

Other risks factors of prostate cancer development which can be found in books are aging or changes in male hormones due to aging and are so general that makes preventative measures unsubstantiated.

Fine Treatment avoids a common mistake investigators make and when they fail to mention that prostate cancer is always found together with prostatitis and all men will probably get both diseases if they live long enough. Both prostate cancer and prostatitis raise Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) levels and both conditions are currently at epidemic levels and, also, Zinc levels are low or absent in both prostate cancer and chronic prostatitis. These facts need to be considered carefully when the prevention measures of prostate cancer are discussed and, indeed, these facts confirm the uniqueness of a natural prostate treatment invented by Dr Allen as a prevention measure of prostate cancer.

According to Dr Allen & Fine Treatment, opinions differ and are controversial about the relationship between Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer. Despite the fact that some of the symptoms of these two conditions are the same, the claim that BPH appears to be etiologically unrelated to prostate cancer has been popular for many years. It is a relief to hear that now this claim has been deemed doubtful. Researchers are beginning to see pathological and genetic links between these two conditions. Furthermore, there are strong suggestions that prostatic inflammation is involved in the pathogenesis and progression of both conditions, it means that chronic prostatitis and BPH and prostate cancer are interconnected.

These new approaches in understanding of prostate cancer development underline the importance of prostate treatment, particularly BPH treatmentand prostatitiscure for prevention of prostate cancer development.

“You have to keep your prostate in healthy condition to avoid prostate cancer in future” says Dr Allen, “Fine Treatment offers the best prostate care option as it is very effective and natural and thus free from adverse side effects.”
